PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
To all beloved Brothers,
I am here before you thanking everybody who had participated in the Toronto affair.I would also like to thank every Upsilonian who had entrusted me to become the Society’s president for the next two years.
With great gratitude to the previous administration of Chug for helping with the transition of my administration. A well deserve acknowledgement to all my officers for starting in the right direction. I know of the profound pressure I had bestowed on our well respected brother Frank Batara in undertaking the job of Comelec Chairman.I will always be behind you Brother! To Brod Edwin Pana more power to you with the new USPNA Website.
The first order that this administration is to address the malaise condition of the endowment fund. I have entrusted Brother Vic Rivera and Dodie Arevalo to lead the way in fulfilling this great program. I had also requested Brod Slatz to stay in the Comittee to give us better guidance in all aspect of the endowment program. Once we have reached this plateau of having $100,000.00,then the Society will enable itself to propel forward with its future programs. So I asked each and single Brod to pitch in their modest way they could.
The second order is to make the necessary changes in our constitution to make our Society fair and more adaptable to the changing times. With this I would compel all the Brods particularly with great and noble issues with regards to the last election to join us and be actively present and involve in the Society’s next meeting at the end of October 2006 in Las Vegas.
The third order is to get all the chapters to be involved in certain projects that would benefit the Society and our resident brothers in the Philippines. Each and single brod that had survived and prosper here in the USA and Canada knows that the essence of hard work and diligence will push us thru any predicament we are confronted with. I want the younger generation of Upsilonian to be imparted with these characters and hopefully it will help them thru the same way.I have instructed that all chapter presidents be a member of the Ways and Means Committee. This should help us involve all Brods in all programs the Society will undertake.
The last thing I would like to do is to request all Brods to refrain from discussing and contesting what this present BOD had done. I feel the Las Vegas forum will be a better venue to discuss and promulgate new changes in the constitution to avert future problems.
So Brods, I would request that you give me and my officers chance to serve and move on forward. As the President I would take full responsibility and its consequences if the BOD had erred in the last BOD election and the BUCK STOPS HERE!
Thank You!
Fraternally,
Jimmy Velasco’70
USPNA President
