Upsilon Sigma Phi Los Banos Grand Alumni Homecoming and Reunion
October 7 and 8, 2006
UP Los Banos, Laguna
Dear Fellow Upsilonians,
Loyalty Day celebrations hold a very special place in my heart. It has been common knowledge that for the last two years, I have been at the forefront of organizing this yearly event of events for Upsilonians from Los Banos and even to our brods from Diliman.
Truly, I have never been as alive, beatin’ and kickin’ , since we had our Beatniks at 86 in 2004 and Still Rockin’ at 87 last year. The decision to anchor our celebrations with the decades have brought all of us closer not just to the fraternity but the lasting legacy of how Upsilon as indeed grown and matured through time. Like a fine harvest, it will outlast its first decade and be a drink of choice as it gets older.
Not only are we entering the final turn to our immortality as a fraternity, we in the Association have rekindled the flame of dear old Upsilon at we are now at the threshold of a new wave of greatness.
Let me cite a few of the achievements our Association has been busy with for the last ten months:
Ø We successfully celebrated our 87th Anniversary at the UPCO Clubhouse last November with over 60 brods attending;
Ø We have revised our Association’s Goals and conducted a two-day Planning Session last November;
Ø We have held regular monthly Board Meetings and Fellowships with brods coming in from the States;
Ø We conducted several Fellowships together with the residents especially during the Summer months;
Ø We have launched a Re-indoctrination Program together with the Residents;
Ø We held or 1st GMM last June with over 80 brods attending;
Ø We have activated three standing committees (Membership, Finance and Fellowship) with prominent brods as active members;
Ø We are updating our directory which will be out by October;
Ø We are officially supporting the following major endeavors:
· Gawad Kalinga Los Banos-Putho
· UP 2008 Centennial Fund Drive
· Resident Scholars thru different batches and chapters
· Resident Activities consistent with our 5-point Goals
These are but some of the activities we have busied ourselves with. We hope you can join us as we actively seek the support of more alumni brods to ensure our cresendo of greatness towards or centennial is fullfilled.
I am confident that the tandem of Harry 72 and Ryan 81 as co-chairs of the 2006 Grand Reunion Organizing Committee will bring us another memorable alumni homecoming.
Please mark your calendars for October 7 and 8 and we’ll be more than happy to have you and your family along that day! See you in Los Banos!
For the USPLBAA Board,
Glenn V. Ollero ‘76
